Our New Holland, Pennsylvania facility is in search of a self-motivated creative candidates to fill the position of Plant Materials Procurement. This position is responsible for all aspects of plant material procurement that satisfies production needs in a cost-effective manner.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Orders direct materials and other misc. plant items as assigned for all phases of production process for specified plant(s).
  • Assures all materials purchased are in compliance with approved quality & functional specifications, negotiated contracts, and internal SOPs.
  • Attends daily plant meetings for each plant of responsibility; reports to Corporate Purchasing major events or product/material related concerns shared in meetings.
  • Communicate shortages that will impact production to Scheduler and Corporate Purchasing. This includes proposing alternate solutions to supply problems or material shortages.
  • Responsible for coordination of inbound logistics in cooperation with transportation management.
  • Assist Corporate Purchasing Managers as required, including special projects and budget activities.
  • Assists in inventory reconciliations, resolution of holds, coordinates authorized destruction of materials and/or shelf-life extensions and supports receiving invoiced credits for returned materials.
  • Tracks supplier quality and logistical performance.
  • Participates in testing of new or improved materials, while guaranteeing compliance with SOPs of new materials and suppliers.
  • Negotiates supply of materials as defined or approved by the Corporate Purchasing Managers.
  • Responsibility estimated to be 20% of the purchased materials; Not to exceed: $250,000 per material; $500,000 per Vendor
  • Some travel required.

   EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A four-year college degree or commensurate experience in materials buying/purchasing.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in materials purchasing or related experience in a food or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP and other materials management techniques.
  • SAP/ERP experience is a plus.
  • Strong spreadsheet management and analytical skills.
